WireView Pro II GPU - A 12VHPWR per pin power monitor that can help prevent nvidia fires

Came across this device that monitors power per pin on a 12VHPWR connection that can let you know if load is not being distributed evenly. Kinda expensive, but I suppose if you have a $5000 GPU you probably won’t blink.

What’s interesting to me is that so far, supposedly 98% of problems are resolved by reconnecting or replacing the cable, and 2% are from the device itself having an issue. No problems that needed the GPU or PSU replaced have come up so far.

(Of course, the real solution would be to choose a connector that isn’t prone to such problems, but hey, at least now there’s a $200 band-aid you can use while waiting for a billionaire to make consumer friendly business decisions.)

Still issues only on the connector side btw. The device ( or a gpu or a psu) has soldered pins so they are locked in place, while the pins in the cabe can wiggle. And as we have seen, even a mm less contact than specced can cause a disaster.

This statistic may explain why the 12vHighFailure connector was filled with resin in on one of the recent workstations Wendell reviewed. So the pins are locked in place and cannot recede.
