Wireless modem problems

So, I have a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580 Wireless modem from Timewarner cable.

Any device that is plugged in via ethernet works fine, full 50 Megabit download speed.

But for a while, no device could connect via wifi. After talking to timewarner, they said that I should disable the password on the modem. what? why would I want to do that? Anyway, I did, and it helped, even though the speeds were much slower than normal, devicdes could connect. I reenabled the wifi password, and devices can connect, but no data is sent to the internet, it says theresw an internet connection, but its really network only.

Can anyone help me?

I also get an error on the modems even logs stating "Missing BP Configuration Setting TLV Type: 17.9;CM-MAC=94:cc:b9:48:92:8a;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:3c:74:c2;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; "
