Windows Sudo-Admin

I am an admin on my Win7 computer. I actually have the only account because I do not share. Why on earth can't I copy a Autorun.ini file off of my Seagate Backup Drive so that I can have a backup copy (I really like having the right icon)? I also cannot open with notepad or notepad++ (Access Denied). How is access Denied?!? I own this computer, I should have full access. Is there another level? Do I need root access to my computer as well? If I am an admin and it tells me I need an admin to perform an operation what does that mean? If this is UAC I am really getting pissed off. Maybe I should bit and get Linux.... although then half of my steam games won't work anymore...

Note: I can write .ini files, no problem. I already have a new one made so I can go ahead and reformat the drive and clean up all the bloat that came on it. It's not ini help I need, I need to know why I don't have administrative right to my own computer on my own account.

Thanks!

Its because windows doesnt like to give users full control. you can take control of everything with a simple registry hack, if you want.

Follow that guide, then right click on your C: drive and select "take ownership".

Is that a new thing since XP? I never remember having this trouble with XP although I think we had XP professional. Does the Pro or Ultimate version of Win 7 handle this any better? Thanks for the registry thing.

Yeah, Ive never really had that problem in ultimate version.
