when i scan for viruses or copy files on the hard disk or whenever the hdd usage is 100% the computer becomes sluggish. why is that ?
right now the Automatic maintenance is active and it spikes the hdd usage to 100% ! everything is slow.
is there smthn wrong with the Hard Drive ?

No there is nothing wrong with your HDD. Think of you CPU, when it is at 100% everything else is slow because those programs have to wait to use the CPU its the same idea with your HDD.
One thing that might help is to do a cleanup on the hard drive, shut down non-critical services, and defrag your hard drive. and I would also agree with Barf
