I’ve been looking into Windows MFA on ARM64 systems and wanted to see if anyone here has hands-on experience with it.
I’m particularly interested in how third-party Windows MFA solutions behave on ARM compared with the usual x64 environment. One of the solutions I’m currently looking at is miniOrange MFA, but I haven’t seen much discussion around its use with Windows on ARM.
A few things I’m trying to understand:
-
Does the Windows logon/credential provider work reliably on ARM64?
-
Are there any ARM-specific compatibility issues with third-party MFA solutions?
-
How does MFA work for RDP on Windows ARM?
-
Does the setup differ between Microsoft Entra ID and traditional on-prem Active Directory?
-
Are there any limitations around Windows Hello, FIDO2/security keys, or other passwordless methods?
-
For organizations running a mix of ARM64 and x64 Windows devices, is it practical to maintain the same MFA approach across both?
If anyone has actually tested Windows MFA on ARM64, I’d be interested in hearing what solution you used, what worked well, and whether you ran into any compatibility or deployment issues.
