Windows error 0xc0000098

i keep get this i dont have a cd but i do have usb but it wont bootup i just keep getting that screen!! oh yeahi have 8.1

i have run into a similar problem with 8.1, relax, you may need to reinstall the os if the repair fails, but as long as your hard drive still works, and you have the installation usb you should be fine.

ok you will need to go into the Bios of your Mother Board and tell it to boot from your USB. Have your Recovery/install USB plunged into the computer, then press the power button and then immediately press or repeatedly tap the Delete key( this usually works for most computers, if not you will need to look up your mobo or maker manual), this will bring you into the bios. where with a little luck since i don't know your MoBo, you will probably need to fish around in the settings, your looking for something regarding boot order, boot drive.

once you boot up onto your usb, follow the prompts, and then on the same page where you click the box Install os, there will also be a tab for PC repair, click that and follow the prompts. :D

i tryed that i still getting that screen it wont bootup my usb drive and its working fine i put a os on it i download.

what motherboard are you using?

Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 Socket AM3+ 990FX ATX AMD Motherboard

ohh yeah totally, i have a gigabyte board too.

were you able to get into the BIOS, question?

if you were did you go to BIOS Fetures, Boot Option Priorities, and change boot option 1 from "Sata..." to the USB name. and then saved and exited?

If your USB is still failing you you might need to reflash the drive/ reinstall the ISO file.

I know it sounds like i am saying the same thing over and over again, but it really is strange that you cannot get it to boot from usb properly. And if it all really does hit the fan this might help
