Windows 8 pausing to load too often

Does anyone know whats wrong, my computer keeps stopping for a couple seconds to load making me unable to click on anything and pointer is a blue circle. Windows 7 used to never really do this to me, and this is really annoying, especially when playing league of legends. It happens maybe a few times an hour during active use and nothing demanding, like maybe 10 chrome tabs, word, and excel open. My computer should be fast enough for this never to happen. Also not sure if this is part of it but, video streams and music streams sometimes slow and start skipping too, but that may just be Charter's shitty internet.

It also takes way longer than it should to initially open the main files on a hard drive, like 3-5 seconds just to see the 6 folders on my media hard drive.

When did the problem first occur?

Ever since install, I only have barebone programs installed like word, excel etc.

Programs keep freezing and just now every program went not responding, including task manager and I had to restart. I think I'm just going to try to degrade to windows 7, 8 is a piece of shit.

Might be some compatability issue with one of your drivers. I had a bad driver when i first installed Win 8 which completley froze my machine within the first 3 min after boot. Degrading is properbly the fastest way to fix your problems. Its not like you're missing out on a hole lot by dodging Windows 8 :D

I don't know how you came to the conclusion that Windows 8 is shit and 7 isn't based solely on this single issue. It's not like 7 hasn't had it's share of problems either. It's most likely a driver or compatability issue. Perhaps it has to do with your SSD? Have you tried reinstalling Windows 8 from a clean install?
