I have looked for solutions to this on other forums but nobody could really help so I thought this could be the right place and since I was watching the youtube channel for quite a long time I just registered.
The problem is that Windows 8 is installing NVIDIA drivers on my desktop PC although i have disabled the option for that. It also does not ask for it. All I see (after clean install) is that while doing a windows update the screen turns black and starts again with the right resolution. After I take a look in the control panel I see that it installed some old NVIDIA driver... including 3D Vision etc.
Am I deactivating it wrong? Or does this not include GPU drivers?
I deactivated it this was: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2500967
No, that is not what I ment. Windows installes these drivers without any drivers being installed prior. It also installes old drivers. The thing I want is to stop Windows doing that.
Edit: Those drivers do not come from Windows Update btw.
JefferyD90, you still not understand. I know the model of my GPU and I know where to get the driver.
andydviking, I already did that. As I said that driver does not come from windows update. I unchecked every hardware related driver from windows update. Windows 8 just installs a driver without my permission or my knowledge.
I'm sorry. I think I now understand what you are trying to say. **Can you please tell me what graphics card you have? **can you please take a screen shot of your contol panel and post it back here?
I read the page you linked to. I am understanding that you don't want any of the extra features that come with the Nvidia driver and it's installing these auto? And it's reverting back to an old driver?
