What is better for boot times.
And what is better for gaming.
currently there is a slight like 1 frame difference in most games which is within margin of error nearly between the two i would go with 8 just because it will be supported for longer its not as bad as people say my desktop runs 7 but the laptop im using to type this is 8 and i game a little on it and yes windows 8 has significantly faster boot times and shutdown times.
windows 8 memory managment is MUCH better than w7 (or at least it seems that way!). It keeps more RAM space open and unoccupied IMHO.
i only got windows 8 because of the speed and am running start is back and it is quite nice
