I'm about to get myself one of those Crossover 27Q monitors with the super-duper resolution, and am wondering if my card will be enough to push the monitor. If need-be I can always part with the card and save up another $250 or so to get a 7950/7970/GTX670. I'm hesitant to Xfire the 6950 just because I had a pretty bad experience with my last xfire set-up.
So what do you guy-z think?
Ohh, and I'll be playing the likes of BF3, Day-z, Skyrim, etc. on this thing.
The card I would imagine would do pretty good. However thats dependent of the settings you will be running at. I wouldn't expect to pull 60FPS in BF3 at Ultra with the card. I'm not experanced with HD+ resolutions so someone else may be able to give an idea.

well it will work yes, but if it will work well really depends on what you do on it its not gonna like play crysis on mega ultra super duper but it will do fine i think if you turn things down like AA ( wich you dont need anyway with this kind of res) you will do fine just dont over do it, or else youre computer will inplode into a black hole...JK
No the 6950 is not good card i had one and wasn't really impressed with it so i sent it back to newegg. you want to get a 6970 7970 or nvidia gtx 580 or 680. They are the higher end cards in those series.
You will struggle in games like BF3 at that res (if you want to play with high graphics)
I run my GTX580 @900mhz core, and struggle @ 2560x1440 in full res, so I play it in windowed instead
how about 670gtx? its a good performer for its price... i have the asus 670 dc2 top... its core clocks are around 1200ish... my screen runs at 2560x1440 and so far its been able to handle anything. dunno abt bf3, but i run diablo 3 and skyrim on max settings with no problems. my 2 cents.
I crossfired and unlocked my 6950s to 6970 specs and thought the performance inscrease was over-rated. Eventually games became glitchy and the extra 5 fps wasn't worth it so I reverted back to stock. I like my 6950 @ 1920x1080 but I can tell it will struggle with anything beyond that.
Save up and go with a 7950/70 or a GTX670
