Will a 3570k suit my needs

Hello, I am building a computer to record and render gaming videos, and I am wondering if the 3570k will be fine to record modded Skyrim gameplay, or if I need to save up more for an i7

Also if needed here are the other components:

MSI Twin Frozr 7950
2x4 GB DDR3 Crucial Ram
650 Watt PSU
500 GB HDD and an addition 1 tb drived
Some MSI Micro ATX board

Edit: Or could I be better off with a FX 8350

Should be fine, just get a decent CPU cooler and OC the i5 to at least 4.2Ghz

and 8350 would work too, but the 9xx chipsets are only on ATX boards(from what ive seen), so for mATX id stick with intel.

ya it will work great if you want a matx or itx case but if you are getting a tower that supports full atx get the 8350 they are very similar just price and size set them apart

if you are recording/rednering/streaming while playing games, the 8350 will beat the intel every time, but as said in the other replies, if you are set on an mATX board then the i5 will do you just fine

Ok, but also, will 8 gigs of RAM be enough, or should I save up more for 16?

Yes to the i5, yes to getting a better cooler, yes to getting 16GB of RAM for video editing. 16 GB is a very good amount of RAM for holding large files in workable memory, but it really does depend on the apparent need for it. As far as coolers are concerned, air coolers are incredibly effective, but expect to pay at least 45$ for any one capable of supporting a high overclock. But you won't be doing that on an MSI board until you've managed to find out how many power phases it has, now will you? I hope not, an i5 still isn't cheap enough that bricking one is any kind of a pleasant experience.

i5 is more than enough for all tasks.

I would go with a 8350. I also agree with saving up for 16gb.
