Say I have 3 machines that are doing vlan tagging at the OS… they get connected to a dumb/soho switch… would they stop talking to each other over all the diff vlans??
my research so far is unconclusive.
if the switch doesn’t support vlans, my guess is that it would just move frames around according to mac addresses and the vlan tags would be ignored. I don’t know for sure though.

The dumb switch would likely assume everything belongs to the primary vlan it is connected too.
