Hello, I have a Linksys EA6300 router and I have a peculiar problem. Whenever my desktop is on (its wired into the router) the wireless is very flaky and causes the devices in my house to disconnect. Does anyone have any idea why this happens, and how I can fix it?
I will direct an expert to you as soon as he logs on again ... best I can do for you
Thank You
What you have to bear in mind with these all in one devices is that they can be severely underpowered. With dedicated devices you a separate controller/processing unit for each device and its task.
However with this type of product it is functioning as a router, a switch and an access point. So the amount of data you maybe trying to push through it is simply too much.
I presume you are running the wireless in AC mode? Try switching it down to N and see if the issues still continue.
The 2.4 GHz runs on mixed mode (its N and G I believe) and the 5 GHz runs on AC only. I don't think the amount of data going through is to much because It even happens when there are two devices on the 2.4 GHz band(A phone that isn't doing anything and a laptop that is used almost exclusively for Facebook) and my desktop which is just watching a YouTube video or playing games online.
