I was watching the L1… links… most recent ep and @wendell mentioned that set your WiFi to 80MHz channel width and you’ll thank him.
They then chuckled about googling it.
While i trust wendell far more than some random googling, I am curious as to why 80MHz is better, when i googled this exact thing a while back it was saying 40 was best?
What about for the 2.4GHz band, I only have 20 or 40MHz listed (In the UniFi console)?

edit - does transmit power make any real difference as well?
Mostly I was joking because we’ve gone 20/40/80 now to get speed increases and more bandwidth. Wider channels makes device density harder generally but other tech greatly increases the spectrum density possibilities… stuff vaguely like ofdm …
And then to 160, and now even 320mhz channels with wifi 7. At least on 6ghz channels you can actually use 320 without much of any interference because the range is so bad beyond the house walls
Transmit power should be adjusted if you have more than 1 wifi AP to adjust overlap of the different points.
