Is it possible to make a wifi card work through mSATA-USB adapter?
If yes then how? I haven't had any luck, the OS recognizes the adapter's controller but nothing more.
I doubt it. That mSATA to USB adapter is likely built specifically for mSATA only and doesn't handle mPCIe signalling at all.

I think it may be technically possible but it probably comes down to driver & BIOS support. I recently tried swapping between Wifi cards in an mSATA slot on a SFF PC and only the wifi card shipped with the system was recognised.
That might be a case of BIOS whitelisting. Laptop and SFF pc manufacturers do it a lot.
