Why isn't there a super technical Mac podcast?

Well to be fair the staff the college I went to were a bunch of macheads that sat in the on campus coffee shop and decided IT couldn't be too difficult. The actual school staff got more done than they did because they were always flipping through manuals.

You read my mind.

When I worked on Mac's (I am unfamiliar with Unix / Linux) doing my own tech support was not an option. I can dig into minutia on Windows, but "opening the hood" on my OSX system folder was intimidating. Even IT didn't know what to do. It was classic corporate think - 'You are a designer, so you want a Mac right? Even though IT will not support it or make backups to the server?" Noooooo, please I beg of you, get me a PC!

Our company photographer handled most of our problems. But there were very few. My Mac Pro just worked most of the time.
