When I go on the ARK and look up new processors that come out theres the giant list of stupid bullshit that no one uses. Intel itself even admits that no one uses any of it yet and aren't sure that anyone will use it.
Why the hell are we buying new intel chips if the most we're using will be the 3XXX series of processors? Why is it that we have one side pumping out garbage that no one will use for 20 more years, if ever, and then we have the other side pumping out garbage because their opponent has been sueing them for 10 years for really retarded reasons and they are only just now coming back. This is fucking stupid.
Because, contrary to your beliefs, there are differences and advancements in new products. Also, the supply chain for the old products has been depleted.
While I agree that there have been some flops, like TSX, vPro, and TPM, that doesn't mean that nobody wanted them or they had no value. There are a lot of uses for computers, and while some of these 'additional features' might not be of much interest to you, they are often of interest to enterprises who asked for those features to be made, or who use them to manage their system infrastructure.
I'm not sure about what/where you thought this rant was going. I tried to address your points.
If Intel listened to rants like this one, there would be only "K" processors for consumers. Average consumer doesn't need or use VT-d, right? Actually, there would be no "K" processors, either, because consumer isn't supposed to overclock. Shall Intel strip features which average consumer doesn't use?
I don't know why you're buying new chips. I have 3770 for the last... 5? years and it's more than enough for me.
Intel like nvidia are fat kings on there hill and dont have to do much to get fatter. If someone rolls them down the mountain they will get cranky and work hard to get back. Until them its coke and donuts.
