Why I strictly use Linux for Unreal Engine games

Stutter. That bitch that some how developers cannot stop.

Borderlands 3. Unreal Engine 4, Win 11 vs Nobara Linux. Actual frame data at the end. In observation, stuttering severely reduced but not outright gone.

Silent Hill 2 Unreal Engine 5, Win 11 vs CachyOS Linux, no frame data. In Observation, only 1 stutter.

First video is making sure all know objectively that SH2 fails to load under Windows 11 in DX12.

Known issue, amongst others.

Second, the actual video.

Moving forwards CachyOS will be the home of my Unreal gaming shenanigans, all stutter is removed in Borderlands 3 under this Linux distribution, I may or may not do an up to date video.

Interesting, I was also recently comparing Windows 11 to Nobara 42 and ran across CachyOS. I wonder where in the pipeline the stutter is introduced. I’ll have to install CachyOS and give it a try.
