I added 6 pc,s I updated the wiring in the basement. It can handle 15kw at the moment just for this room, with the ability to expand if needed.

They take up about 1/3 of this basement room so if I ever have more friends attend I can build more pc’s and expand.

The 6 pc’s (Most have between 5 and 6tb of m.2’s in them, usually a 2tb and a 4tb m.2.

Number 1 is my main gaming pc. My work pc is an exact replica of this in terms of specs but its in the o11evo case. This is separate in my office. My son also has a 5090 based system and a 7900xtx based system.

Each pc has an ultra wide screen. I just had friends and family from Brazil, Ireland, England and Germany over for a gaming week so it was a lot of fun.

I only ran 10gb fiber for the moment until I upgrade the switch to 100gb then will worry about something quicker. I’ve also installed U7 access points on each floor (ground floor, basement and 1st floor)

I just upgraded my main monitor to the latest Alienware 39” ultrawide also.

This is how my current setup is now for gaming (After the gaming event).

This is my office setup. The cables are messy as after borrowing the monitor for the lan week I broke the cable management. I need to fix it but I will worry about that another day as I’m back in work tomorrow.

Build build build……… Good stuff.

Really cool to see a bunch of custom loop builds in there! Oled is absolutely the way to go if you can afford them, amazing screen tech!

Now you just need to redo a couple of them with a few valves & external inlet / outlet ports, so you can optionally have them on internal rads, or an external MORA or similar large remote radiator… Or better yet pull a Linus and have whole home water cooling with a single room loop that each unit has a pair of T-fittings attached to, then dump the heat completely outside the room. Either way you can get at least a few of them running silent under load if you want.

After having several setups I can honestly say it helps a ton to have some kind of dim and maybe warm bias lighting behind screens, or a couple of the dimmable “under cabinet” lights mounted to the back of the desk underside, it does a lot to reduce eye fatigue for me without harsh overhead light. Same deal with the monitor lights like the Quntis USB powered ones. Oh, and a 3xl mouse pad that’s 48”x24” is worth considering. Last thing that you kinda must spend your money on are the “office chair skate wheels" that roll very nicely and quietly on any surface, but don’t roll too easily, at least get them for your main chair.

Sexah! All that white tho… eek!

If you mean the desk, this will be replaced with a custom desk later in the year. I will fly my friend over at some point and the two of us will build a custom desk together. Should be a big improvement. This was just used as a template for how I want it to go.

I was thinking of just getting AC for this room to deal with the heat output of the systems rather than outside rads as its a little simpler as I’ve to replace the windows soon already. Even with it being 15c outside this room it got extremely warm when we were all gaming.

A couple water chillers and a full room water loop would do the trick if you have a space outside the room to place the chillers and dump the heat. I run this type of setup for my office with the chillers in the attic. Quiet, cool and amazing everyday OC on all systems. I also have a smaller and larger chiller set in lead/lag for tiered cooling so as to keep the chillers from short cycling. Works beautifully.

The problem would be in the Winter, some winters we can get -20c which can cause a lot of issues. The previous owners of the home had internal pipes freeze and bust as they tried save money and leave certain heating systems off. I can only imagine the issues with this as these pc’s are not in use in winter.

You have to use a Glycol based coolant. I use a A 60/40 Water to Propylene Glycol (40% PG by volume) mixture has a freezing point of approximately -21°C to -23°C (-6°F to -9°F ). The burst protection point (the point where it freezes solid enough to expand and break fittings or tubing) is even lower, around -33°C (-27°F ). Also, Propylene Glycol is non-toxic and will not harm you or animals.

I make the coolant myself and use a product called ComStar Corrosion Inhibitor with a PHN Biocide.

https://www.amazon.com/ComStar-Corrosion-Inhibitor-Propylene-Anti-Freeze/dp/B0F2PSZCXZ/ref=sr_1_1?rdc=1&sr=8-1

The mixture I use is as follows:

  • Distilled Water (60% vol): 600 mL
  • Propylene Glycol (40% vol): 400 mL
  • ComStar PG/EG Corrosion Inhibitor: 7.48 g(Derived from the manufacturer specification of 2.5 oz per gallon of PG: \frac{70.87\text{ g}}{3785.41\text{ mL PG}} \times 400\text{ mL PG} = 7.48\text{ g})
  • PHN Biocide: 4 drops (matching the 4 drops per 1 L specification)

You can tweak the ratios for more protection vs. cooling and visa versa obviously. But with a chiller setup, it’s pointless really to be concerned about cooling capability.

This also makes for a ‘normal’ DIY clear PC coolant for any home PC as well. I’ve not changed the coolant in my loop in years (2.5 gallons). No growth, not clouding and no coolant loss. I do live in the sticks at 8000 feet (~2400 meters) elevation, we get super cold in the winter and I shut down the house when we leave for vacations and have never had a problem.

Anyway, just a thought for ya.
