I am using Manjaro Linux and AviDemux to edit small videos, and upload them on YouTube.
Nothing fancy, just cropping certain parts.
Some of them are too short, like 10-15 seconds, therefore no need to make a full video, rather I prefer to use the short video type YT offers.
These videos, need to be in portrait orientation, and for that I need to keep certain area of my videos, something that AviDemux cannot do.
I was told to install Davinci Resolve, but after I did a quick research, it is too much for my needs.
What other options are out there for such editing, ideally to have a ready template for YT shorts?
kdenlive + handbrake. The orientation and cropped parts are easy to do with handbrake, then kdenlive for the main editing and stuff. I am sure theres a middle ground somewhere, the simpleness of kdenlive to the complexity to davinci but a good linux option doesn’t seem to be around.
If you’re using youtube, why not give the youtube studio or creator studio a look? (use desktop version, the app is apparently awful for edits)
