Which laptop to buy

Hi, I'm looking into buying a new laptop and I'm not having very many results with what i want, and was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations.

I'm looking for something around 14", 1920 x 1080, a decent dedicated graphics card, a decent amount of RAM, something that isn't too large and not to thick.

I'm going to be using this laptop everyday at school, the reason for the size as i don't want to be carrying a 17" monster with me everywhere. I would like a dedicated graphics card as i have had bad experiences with integrated graphics and i am going to be using this for lots of 3D modeling and rendering. I would like it to also run a few games decently, they don't need to be maxed out or anything but just being able to play then at a bearable frame rate. I would also prefer if the laptop were to have an SSD as i am very used to my current laptop which is running a very fast SSD and i am really liking that but nothing else with the current laptop, hence why the switch. my budget is something around $1500 but can possibly go up to around $1800.

If anyone's got any suggestions that would be great.

Only 900p screen though, if you're set on 1080 then I have no idea what to recommend..

msi ge40 hands down. There a 1080p model with an ssd + hdd with a 760m. It also has upwards of 8 hours of battery life, which is perfect for school.

why, what is so bad with 1080p. i really like all of these laptops apart from the powerbook. what do people think of this laptop, http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4636#kf
