In my defense I grew up in an Apple household, so I didn't have much of a choice.

A Tandy RL 1000. 8086 chip. Interestingly, this was back in the four-color CGA days but Tandy's graphics could do 16-color similar to EGA. I owned the thing for a year or so before I figured that out in one of my games (I think it was Wizardy: Bane of the Cosmic Forge).

Cool topic!

The first one I owned - Commodore 64, then AMIGA, then 486 PC.

The first one I used. They forced us to program this thing in High School.

Punch card input > Teletype output. I didn't want to touch a computer for years after that.

Dell Optiplex GX280:

Guess I'm a bit younger than you, but this was what I had, ran Runescape, Flash games and those weird multi game themed installers on CD, I remember a 'Moto-sport' installer, had motocross and Richard Burns Rally etc, those were the days, although it soon got replaced by a PS2 for gaming, as I didn't know better, Now I emulate all my PS2 games which is a joy :stuck_out_tongue:

I still have it! I found and bought it back in the mid 90s. I never really appreciated how much this thing cost my parents back in 1983.

I got a Tandy 1000SL a few years later.

Some Cyrix 50Mhz 486 built from trash with 32Mb of RAM and a 512Kb S3 Video Card.
I think it had something like a 500Mb Disk drive all running windows 3.11 and later WIn 95.

It's not the oldest system I had though. I had some german made 8086 Siemens Nixdorf 8086/88 with 640Kb of RAM and a 20mb disk drive later. Of course it was in glorious Orange color screen only.
This is it I think:

As to my age? That's anyones guess

TRS 80 Color Computer

Due to my parrents lack of understanding that a PC is not the devil ...

my first PC was a AMD K7 - 750Mhz, 128MB ram, ATI Rage128 and a 80GB HDD which all came with win98

Back than I saved my pocketmoney for months to get an extra 64MB ram and was dreaming of a Voodoo3 3000 xD

I don't remember the specs, for I was just a wee lad of 4, but it was some Gateway computer from 1999.

It was a 286, can't remember exactly which one. I do remember the mouse looking like this:

Technically it wasn't mine, it was my uncles, but I used it more than he did because he'd moved away and left it behind.

First one I used... well I was too young to remember... Some HP (about 90% sure that's the brand) running windows 95. I stuck with windows 95/98 for years. I think the next computer in the house after those was a vista laptop for reference.

Atari 400, then a Commodore 64, then a TRS 80, none of which I considered a real computer, first real computer would have been a 386sx, first computer I built was a 486dx-2/66, over the years I've owned just about every computer that was a first computer for a lot of people most of them were given to me like a Apple 2c that I just gave away a couple years ago.

My family's first computer was an Apple IIgs. The first computer that was "mine" though was one of Power Computing clones. I forget the exact model, but it was a tower that had a 604e CPU (which died and was replaced with a 740 or 750 CPU, which happily continued to work just fine after its fan failed).

I've owned the occasional PC, but my main computer has always been an Apple (or at least run their OS).

Although if my 2008 Mac Pro dies before Apple releases their recently "announced" redesigned Mac Pro, that might change. I am not part of the current Mac Pro's target demographic, and I've been meaning to setup a Linux box anyway.

My family didn't own a computer until around 2000/2001, but it was some old gateway clunker.
