I haven't had problems with TOR, but then again I don't use it for much.
BTGuard is amazing, however. It's strictly for torrenting, but I've been able to use it for everything I've torrented the past year. That's easily over a TB of data, with many new things, highly monitored things, etc. Never got a single email.
In comparison, a friend I used to live with also torrented things; I got emails warning me of that every damn week.

They give you 1gb a month and you can do what you want with it.

I use https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/ works quite nice.
Not all "exits" run 100% smooth for me, but that is normal i think (infrasructure ect.),but about 80% are good for downloading, streaming or surfing with normal speeds.
The Software from the site is a little... (i mean it does the Job) i dont know... i dont realy trust that thingy ^^
