What to do about these temps?

i have an 8350 at stock, that has been having issues of the processor going to 1400 Mhz randomly in games, well i figured out there is a temp called TMPIN1 and the temps lay idle at 50 c and was throttling at 65 c well i removed the limit so it no longer slows at 65 but when rendering video its reached 80 c and i stopped rendering, i my cpu temps are fairly good at 34 c idle, also i just checked and my max cpu temp is apparently 224 C so wtf lol but yeah i redid the coolant i opened the case for a while, im not sure if its a motherboard malfunctioning, i have a biostar A960D+ with the latest bios

thanks in advance

What cooler are you using?

im using stock but it should be fine, im not doing overclocking or anything like that and i have the bios settings like powernow (cool n quiet) and turbo core turned off so strait 4.0 ghz

The stock cooler is useless the FX8320 and FX8350 throttle down to 1.4ghz when thay hit 62c (there max thermal limit) if its 50c idle is way too hot for idle speeds you what to aim for 50-55c for gameing load.

If your not overclocking consider geting a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

your not getting it, my cpu is around 30 idle, and 40~50 when gaming, its just this TMPIN1 not the cpu, idk what TMPIN is or if this is just a stupid motherboard malfunction

Just looking at your mobo its a old 760g ment for athlons and amd phenom chips with a very bad 3+1 vrm that is not heatsinked that is simply not good anuff for a power hungery FX8350.

Those vrm's are probably on fire with that chip you can try adding a fan over the mosfets for a temporary fix but you are going to need a better mobo preferably one with a 6+ vrm set up

so the solution is a new motherboard?

for a permanant fix, yes, most likely

i'd try throwing a fan on there and see if it helps, i have atleast 1 fan just proped up in my case

What do the temperatures say in your BIOS? On a lot of motherboards, whatever sensor TMPIN1 is getting its data from, doesn't exist and gives faulty readings. This is what happened with mine. Though I can't say for sure that this is the problem in your case.

Either way a new board would be a worthwhile investment.

well i did some adjustmentrs and im getting 60-64 c while playing civ with a bud is that okay?
