What software to use for backing up PC to network storage?

I am looking for recommendations for software that will backup my windows pc to my Nas (freenas). I want the program to backup to my network folder.

I have tried a few pieces of software,but they cannot find my shared folder.

That should get you squared away.

Also worth mentioning that the baked in backup system that windows comes with can do this as well. You're best to create the same user with your same password on the NAS, though, as using different credentials can be a pain sometimes with that method.

What a coincidence , I tried veeam today. However, veeam couldn't find my network share. I tried browsing , but still couldn't find it.

Is there a way to find my network share folder?

Okay just making sure, I had a similar issue with the VM version that I had to contact support to resolve with the Synology NAS I used at one point. If I recall it was an issue because I mapped the drive and it didn't really like that for some reason.

My NAS at home is dead atm so I can't help you troubleshoot it at the moment. Why not give the WIndows backup system a shot? I've never had any issues with that one and it's easy to recover with.

Just create a backup operator user with some really stupid password on both windows and the NAS and setup your backup schedule to the shared network location. Super easy.
