i know they only come with vga cables, and the graphics card comes with a dvi to vga adapter, but i want to know what dvi cable i need. i'm not very good when it comes with monitors and cables, but specs i think i'm good at. could someone help me out? thanks.
i'd reccomend this one. it's dual link, and i own one myself and works perfect. unless your tower is going to be further than six feet away. In that case get the ten foot one
From cheapest to most expensive, Dvi-D Single Link, Dvi-D Dual Link, Dvi-I Single Link, Dvi-I Dual Link. I would recommend getting a Dvi-D Dual link cable seeing as it's practically the same price as a Dvi-D Single Link. Just incase you wanted to know, Dvi-A is for analog signals only(Pretty Much don't use this), Dvi-D is for digital signals only(What you would be using), Dvi-I carries both signals and dual link is used for large monitors or high refresh rate monitors(You don't really need this but it adds like $1 max to the price of the cable so you should get it anyway incase you need it in the future).
That's a bit expensive, you can get cables for under $5 on amazon and seeing as the quality of a dvi cable doesn't really matter(Seeing as it's a digital signal) you should just get a cheap one in a length that you need.
