Out of every part of the computer the motherboard is probably the most mysterious to me i just don't know what to look for in a gaming motherboard. BTW i'm getting an Intel i5 or i7 with a gtx 780 and 16 GB 2133 ripjaws of ram.

Its more what you need not what you want. Shop around and see what MOBOs have the features that you need. If your gaming almost any of the ASUS boards would be fine, if your overclocking you may want to look into their ROG boards as they are better designed for that, if your doing work look into workstation boards as they offer more features for doing work.

Me personally, i look for something aesthetically pleasing and offers a good power phase design as i do usually overclock most things, i went with the ASUS hero, but if that doesnt fit your budget all of the other ones work just fine. And make sure if you intend to overclock your CPU you get a z87 chip set motherboard as they are more designed for power users and gamers.
its not bad, I almost went with that one but i choice the ASUS over it as ive had better luck with ASUS products but that is just my preference.
That Msi Z87 GD65 gaming is a great choice. also a good board to look at is the Asus Z87 Pro. this board has bluetooth and Wlan onboard as well.
Also the Msi Z87 Mpower is a realy nice board. i personaly like the msi mpower boards. bluetooth wifi great overclocking potential. etc etc ☺
