What are the options for a motherboard speaker?

I am talking about the one that makes the beep sound on boot.

The most common type it seems are those small piezoelectric speakers on two short wires:

If you search, you can also find ones with longer wires.

However, you can also buy a proper speaker like

Is there anything else? What is the difference between various speakers, how to mount them in a case? Are there any material on the history of these speakers?

I was thinking to use such a speaker to play a notification at the end of my data processing scripts.

You board has to deliver enough to power the speaker that’s about it. Not sure what the rated power delivery is

Are we even back to this? I recall my old pc having horrible PC speaker because there was a time when our powered speaker broke and there was no other audio options. I understand that it was more along the lines of audio feedback of events happening (clicking sound each time your game character moves a tile) rather than actual music and melodies.

Is there an advantage other that a larger speaker will sound louder?
