What 500-600wat PSU should I get?

Looking at what PSU to get for my birthday, preferably 50-100 dollars and available to ship to canada. Its for my birthday, any reccomendations of reliable power supplies?

Check if its Bronze/ Silver/ Gold/ or Platinum certified. I Would recommend Corsair for PSU's. Also modular or non-modular, its up to you but modular is easier to work with.

Probly modular as I'm not an expert with pc's, and I'm only working with one graphics card, this is one I'm looking at currently. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028

That link is to the non-modular PSU. Here is the modular version.  http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139048

Whats your budget? If your flexible on price, you could get a little bigger PSU, giving you room to grow, as well as something gold or maybe even a Platinum. Good thing with a PSU... It can last a few generations of PC builds. Buy a good one now, and have it for a few builds. Just my $.02 That being said, I swear by Corsair or Seasonic. Both have treated me really well over the years.

Highest I would go is probly around 120$, what the difference between Bronze, Gold, and Platinum?

 PSU Chart

Efficiency is the name of the game. Hopefully this chart will help. Also, here is a little blurb from another forum.

A bronze rated PSU will waste around 18% when at 100% load.Meaning if you have a 600Watt bronze rated PSU running at 100% load, about 108 watts will turn to heat.

At a maximum of $120, you could get some really nice stuff.  Of course, you probably don't want to spend that much if you have to.  Here's a couple that I can recommend($->$$$):

non-modular

semi/fully modular:

Also a very nice unit.

Non modular, gold certified, 5 year warranty, and all the protections you could ever need, also available in 650W at $95 and 550W at $80ish.

Mistery's unit is also good, especially the 5 year warranty, if something goes wrong CoolerMaster pays for shipping.

That's a great power supply as well.  Cooler Master's V and VSM line are nice.

CoolerMaster pays for shipping?!

They didn't pay for shipping on my liquid cooler RMA :C

Also another good power supply.  Seasonic makes some really nice units.

Here is a good list of PSUs that meet your needs  from the canadian pcpartpicker (it lists prices in CDN$ and may have local distribution centers for cheaper shipping costs )

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/parts/power-supply/#m=11,71,39&W=550,680&e=5,4,3,2&sort=a8

Make sure that the PSU you choose has at least 20% overhead over estimated system TDP.

I think paying for the shipping fees is only for this type of warranty, it's specified in the warranty description.

I might go with this one, 750w opens me up to alot more options for graphics cards, its gold certified, a relaible brand and should easily last me 5 years, with room to upgrade other parts.
