ITT ideas and suggestions for engineering-inspired refinements to one’s house or property.

Wendell set out some challenges of running data and power in a ancient period house -recent video. Le Corbusier referred to the house - a machine for living in. Marrying Le Corbusier with Python conjures the image of Wendell approaching house build as though kitting out one humongous giant PC case with wires, cables, fans, cooling etc. Mainframe?

Suggestion #1
FIRE SPRINKLER SETUP. - Serious suggestion this. It is the house equivalent of back up your data. With stuff exposed now is the time. Rudimentary system will do to begin with. Get pipes and heads in place; worry about tanks and valves down the road. On a residential system flexible pipes are acceptable. The period house has so much wood it is a nightmare.

Suggestion #2
Plumb-in ducts for central vacuum system. Install early even if installation of motor waits for finances to level off. Central vacuum is a real boost to comfort and lung health.
