Not bad sir, not bad at all.

room heater. NAS

Home server for storage, why buy something new just for storage is beyond me.

Game server.

Compiling and rendering machine. 

Routing and firewall is useful too.

You could make digital frames out of old laptop displays.

I guess you could smuggle drugs in a dvd drive or hard disk.

Teaching kids and elderly how to use computers. 

Office programs and general pc use with programs of it's time (seriously people, just because there things it can't run doesn't mean it can't run all the programs that worked just fine a few years back, just stop with this fad, you don't need to upgrade if you only do office work and light programming)
