WaveLink ThunderDrive II USB Backwards compatibility?

Hi All,

Does anyone know if thunderbolt 3 NVME enclosures should work with USB 3.1 A/C ports? I found a FAQ from Satechi saying there’s does but haven’t been able to find anything on the specific enclosure I bought (Wavelink thunderdrive II).

Whenever I plug my enclosure into my desktop (gigabyte DS3h B660M which unfortunately does not have the TB3 header) or 3 other laptops I get a windows notification saying thunderbolt support limited some functions may not work, than if I go into disk management or explorer it cannot see the connected drive. But if I connect it to a laptop which does support thunderbolt 4 it works as expected. Tried both on my desktop via 3.2 gen 2x2 C and A ports and normal 3.0 A & C ports on laptops.

Definitely made a mistake buying a thunderbolt drive as this really was purchased to create windows installation media and a few test drives so it’s a waste using a TB3 enclosure. Though that said it is also a waste to buy a 3.1 10gb enclosure when these 40gb enclosures were 20% more expensive but 4x the speed hence why I bought them.

Thanks for your assistance.
