Video Card in the $200 to $300 range?

Christmas is coming up soon and i want to award myself and my new build a SEXYASS HIGH performance Graphics Card. [I'm not in any rush by the way, i have the option of waiting early January for sales drop on maybe the higher end cards which might end up in my budget =]

I'm looking at the Radeon HD 7870, no perticular manufactur in mind but would like suggestion if this is a good card to buy.

also the GTX 660 Ti caught my eye...seeing that it falls around the 300 price range, chances of price drop later on is imminant.

I would like to DUEL SLI/CrossFire later on..

 

Some rumors say AMD/ATI is soon to release ther 8000 series Graphics....should i wait for that or i'll befuture proof with my investment now?

HD8000 series will probably arrive around march '13.

For $300 7950s are pretty awesome. Or you could go for the 600ti. The 7950 is a better overclocker, though.
