USB to HDMI adapters that support DDC/CI

I have a Samsung G80SD monitor, and while the hardware itself is great the UI is absolutely terrible (it takes 4-5 clicks on the nipple to get to the brightness adjustment menu, including a menu that completely obstructs the screen).

I want to adjust the brightness more easily, and the standard solution is DDC/CI. Unfortunately, Samsung’s firmware is also terrible: they support DDC/CI on their HDMI ports, but apparently forgot to implement it in their DisplayPort inputs. Since I can’t use HDMI for reasons [1], I am unable to use DDC/CI in the standard way.

I’m getting fed up enough with this situation to try to hack together a solution. My PC is on a server rack in a closet with a DisplayPort cable and a USB 3.2b cable connecting to a KVM in my desk, so it seems like the path of least resistance is to by a cheap USB to HDMI adapter. Does anyone know of one of these that works with Linux and supports DDC/CI?
