USB PCI-E expansion cards

Hi All,

I’m looking for a pci-e usb expansion card. Preferably under $100 AUD but I can extend my budget if needed. I’d lean towards reliability and quality.

I have looked on google, youtube etc and I’m guessing people don’t really in-depth reviews on these so I was wondering what your personal experiences are with them?

I would like a card with no additional power connectors like sata or molex to reduce cable mess. I need to plug in a charger for my xbox controller, fast wireless charger (pixel stand 2) and a usb dac.

Will my free pci-e x4 slot be enough for this. Supposedly it can only power 25watts and the pixel stand is 30 watts. Would it be better to connect that to the computer motherboard and moving a different device on the usb expansion card?

Would either of these be suitable?

Please do not suggest external powered usb hubs. I have too many devices plugged in to the wall as it is and I’d like to reduce this. This is another reason I am buying an internal card.

Thank you in advance.

I use the Digitus PCIe USB 3.0 6x port card a lot in my builds. The only downside is, that the ports can get blocked by the frame of the next slot over or below it.

Because of the narrow spacing of the ports left and right you can only plug in regular cables - chunky USB devices would block neighboring ports.

You could also get a Thunderbolt Addin-Card like the GC Titan-Ridge and use it exclusively for USB-C. It is powered by two PCIe-GPU cables and can provide up to 60W. But it is a hit-or miss if it works on non-supported boards and requires jumpering 2pins on the Thunderbolt header of the card. And it only has 2 ports.
