This item will take a DisplayPort input and convert it to USB-C output. This solves the problem of “I want the Level1Techs USB-C KVM, but I have a desktop with DisplayPort/HDMI only!!”
For more information & quick explanation, I made a little video for you guys! I will update soon with a usage video to show it in action.
however, I noticed that when my (win11) PC that’s connected to the centralizer (input 2), when I switch from input 1 (macOS) to input 2 while the PC is already turned on, the 3rd monitor that’s connected to the centralizer does not detect any input, either I have to unplug the centralizer cable (to PC) and plug it back in for the monitor to detect input, or I switch to input 2 before turning the PC on.
is this normal and expected?
Also, the micro-usb cable for (extra) power, when do I know it’s needed or not?
