Upgrading from 32-bit Windows 7 to 64-bit Questions

Hi guys, recently upgraded alot of hardware on my computer, and I want to upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit to take advantage of programs like Sony Vegas Pro 12. I understand that some people do not like 64-bit Windows because Drivers are harder to find, and it gets kind of messy. So I have some questions.

If I upgrade to 64-bit Windows using the Windows 7 install disc, will my harddrive be formatted? If so, how can I avoid that?

Will I also have to reinstall my programs to 64 bit? Like games and stuff?

You should be able to do an upgrade, you'll have to reinstall a few apps probably and most likely your games too

You should always reformat if reinstalling it's just one of those windows quirks. stop complaining and do it.
