Is that the old PE or the new PE? Just remember the benchmarks from people like Linus are based on the discontinued version, which is not as powerful. Also, the MSI 7950 is £229.99, and you get 6 games with it. Much better deal.

Buy the shit out of that, I'm currently using the same card in one of my desktop and I got an amazing OC just on the stock cooler, I actually will be posting a a graph soon on the temps of the 2500k and 660 TI PE from MSI from air OC and water OC differences, so watch for that soon.

Had no idea there were 2 versions of the msi 660 ti pe, do u have a link where i could read about it? how much is the performance diffrence?

@Craycraftdan i bought mine about 3 days ago now, just couldn't pass it up, but if what UrVoiCJ is saying is true and there are 2 versions and i have the 2nd revision and it don't oc as good i might return it, it was not idicated on the website to me that it was v1 or v2 regardelss i think the oc diffrences will be verry minimal. Do u know i you have v1 or v2 Craycraftdan?

EDIT: Can't find any thing on discontinued msi 660 ti pe cards, i have read that they were supposidly overvolting them somthing out side regulations of nvida or some crap like that, http://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=tbjp7q6unds03orgtreusnjji2&topic=162345.0

Only thing is that ATI does not have TXAA and a couple of other bells an whistles that nvidia has.

Well I believe it's just a driver update that prevents us from overvolting now, (not 100% sure, I just know i've never been able to overvolt) not sure if it's a card itself but I think it was just a driver update. I use the MSI tool afterburner and still get a decent OC without overvolting with a decent performance increase. I wouldn't worry about it to much to be honest, it's still a great card, and that deal is unbeatable. Sorry for the short answer i'm in class working on a final lol

Hey, thank's for the reply, think i found what u were talking about http://www.tomshardware.com/news/MSI-GTX-660-670-overvolting-PowerEdition,18013.html will i still be able to get the 200mhz oc out of the card? i also wonder if the zotac AMP! edition is also up to no good under the hood! causr thats the only one that comes close to the msi pe in terms of max oc.

Finals man! i am working on my honers project this year my self, i think my hair line has receded since the begining of the year lol!

EDIT: Just reading through the forums and apparently some guy who phoned up MSI tech support said that they do not have any new revisions of the card and don't plan to so yea, looks like it must just be updated drivers that stop use from overvolting the PML to 9. suumin volts lol!

Interesting, I've never owned or have had the chance to use a Zotac card so i'm not really sure, I could look around online for some information on it but can't answer that as of right. I'm about done here in class so let me get home and i'll screen shot my current OC on the msi 660 ti PE and show you what I have it running at stable as of right now. ..oh yeah I know what you mean by the hair line receding

AHhahah yea, i am thinking of just shaving it and getting use to it before it gets to bad LOL! yea if you could do that, it would be great, i live in scotland so i might no reply back to the thread for a few hours 20 after 12 here and i have uni tomorrow ut ill check it during break at uni.

Cheer's, - Anton.

That's my current OC right now and I game all day with that and no issues, so I’m sure it can be pushed further. Don't quote me cause every single card OC's different and I'm not responsible if you screw it up haha. It's not under a load or anything in the picutre, but I ran it with that OC in Kombustor for 2 hours and it didn't crash.

edit: you can't really see it, so here is a link to the image http://tinypic.com/r/2rq0iok/6

Cheer's that's a decent boost oc! the highest i have seen is 1,322MHz boost, but i imagine thats unstable! think i will be ocing to you're settings once my card arrives.

Cheers Again, Anton.

Yep no problem sir, just start a bit lower and test it out just to be safe! Use kombustor to stability test it! Good luck man!

Thank's for the reply again, just to update you, i have figured out that the latest versions of msi afterburner, meaning ever version after 2.2.1 have disabled the core v slider on all/certain cards, so the way to get around this is to download 2.2.1 and tweek the core v, i duno how much this will enable use to push the boost clock but 1300 would be a nice place to aim for, am be trying it with mine when it arrives, will be doing a good amout of reading before hand to understand every thing, 3 years warrenty though so. YAYA! lol pretty crap how thay disabled it in all versions after 2.2.1, i don't think allot of people are actually aware of this as finding info about it is sketchy, its almost as if no one wants to talk about it on other forums, apparently it's the same with ATI cards aswell http://www.overclock.net/t/1328183/why-cant-i-increase-my-core-voltage-of-my-7970-in-msi-ab

Ok awesome, I never read about it but I just assumed that it was just a update that changed the OCing for the card, and I just assumed something like (you said) getting the older version of afterburner would work, but I'm not to crazy about messing with it really, just because right now the 660 TI is pretty boss, ya know? The oc I have now is pretty decent for no tweaks the CV so i'll bare with it for now, but I will archive the version download for a later date when I will need to OC the shit out of it! haha, I have this thread in my favorite so keep me updated on your ocing adventure with this card my friend, maybe we can "oc" battle haha ;)
