Two NIC questions for TrueNAS Core

I’m planning on building a more proper file server (as opposed to my current one cobbled together out of random drives running Windows 10 and Storage Spaces), and I think I want to try giving TrueNAS a rip.

Question one: Does the I211-AT (as found in the Prime X570-PRO) work with TrueNAS? I’d ultimately just be using this NIC to direct-connect to a Windows PC as I frankly CBA to deal with the headache of moving my Plex library to something non-Windows based, and honestly I’d still really like to keep hardware acceleration as an option.

Question two: What would y’all recommend when it comes to an additional NIC? Ideally I’d want something that’s 2.5Gb to match my main system, but honestly regular 'ol Gigabit wouldn’t be the end of the world.

As a general rule, Intel NICs are the way to go, although it does vary by driver/chipset. Realtek historically has more issues and Chelsio is not as widely supported (although most are supported in FreeBSD). Aquantia I have no idea.

I believe your Intel I211-AT is technically supported although quick Google says at least one person had an issue relatively recently so you might need to investigate more. Typically bugs in Intel NIC drivers are addressed quickly though because of how ubiquitous they are.
