Trying to boot up linux from usb

Hi
trying to boot up my Ubuntu from usb, but got a problem with loading Ubuntu form usb.
usb boots up but then i select try live ubuntu before install, it will restart (crash)
and computer restarting

got i7 4790k and gigabyte Z97X-SLI-CF motherboard

Do you have a cd rom drive I have far fewer problems going that rout.

i do have but its disconnected atm
dint have any problems before with z68

is it the same iso you used on the z68 or a new one and what version of Ubuntu are you using

Ubuntu 15.10

I would suggest you try Ubuntu 14.04.3 lts to see if you have better luck because its a long term support release where as 15.10 is usually unstable and short term.

Do you have any overclocks? I had a overclock once and I had to disable it while installing Linux. A CMOS reset might not be a bad idea either.

no OC with this pc

Yeah only other thing I can suggest is like what @shadowvengence22 said, try another version or the CD drive.

The built in USB creator in Ubuntu does not work making a 15.10 USB stick. It is a known issue.

I used a Windows VM and https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/

Just add the USB drive to the VM and make the 15.10 USB drive there. If you duel boot then do it under windows. There is also another USB maker called Rufus.

I cant remember which I used but one or both will work as I am on 15.10 installed from USB.

14.04 works now
