TP Link Omada Recommendations

Hi there,

I am looking to beef up the networking at a home. The router will be one of the Aliexpress Celeron N5105 mini pcs running proxmox, opnsense and an omada controller.

I am looking for the best “bang for buck” access points for this home. Two access points will be installed in home itself and one will be installed in the garden room out of the house.

I have been looking at the TP Link EAP620HD, EAP650HD (both ceiling APs) and EAP615-WALL access points. Do any of yous have experience with these access points and maybe can point me in the right direction? I am uk based so I am limited to stock from here.

Thank you!

I have 3x EAP610 V2 AX1800 and 1x EAP225 AC1200-Outdoor Wireless.

I have found them to be solid and the management software will run as a docker container which is something I cant say about Engenius and so far I like the support more than Ubiquity.

I am US based so I cant help on where to buy, but I have been happy with them.

I will add that I got the outdoor AP’s because every AP I have ever tested struggled to get through brick/stone walls. Adding the outdoor AP means I can stay connected anywhere in or out of the house.

I use TP link at my uncles house and they have been in operation for almost a year now with no problems. Both are in semi-indoor environments. One in his garage and another in his detached shop.

Awesome, that’s given me more confidence in buying them.
