Where can I get a hold of a Freescale 7448 CPU? I am having trouble finding any of them.
You will most likely have to purchase a Mac G4 to cannibalise the processor. Or look on ebay.
Just being curious, why not use the older 7457? It can out perform the 7448 entirely due to the fact it has L3 cache present.
This is going into a PowerBook G4 and the stock CPU is a 7447B, the 7448 has the same BGA layout. The 7457 has an incompatible BGA layout. The canceled 7458 was going to be the successor to the 7457.
Ahhh PowerBook, I thought you were on about the Power Mac.
I'm afraid other than keeping an eye on ebay, same applies for having to cannibalise another machine.
