Time for Windows 10

Hardware.

Phenom II quad at 4.3ghz
4GB 1600mhz CL7 ram

It will be interesting to see if i notice any improvements in performance.

Oh and i am coming from Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.

Since you have ultimate, you're going to get Windows 10 Pro.

I made the upgrade and absolutely love it!

Everything so smooth... PC is much more responsive... boot up time is seriously fast... I don't even have an SSD and i'm fully booted in like 10 seconds o.o

Yes I have a USA layout Keyboard in the UK.

When you upgraded, did you get an option to save the old windows installation? I want to upgrade, but I do not have time to reinstall everything.

It asks if you want files etc to be saved, I wanted a fresh install so I cannot tell you if it's good or not.

That is what an upgrade means, it just updates you to windows 10.

I have never gone through a windows upgrade before. I didnt know. Thanks for the replies

Did you have to create a Microsoft ID to upgrade?

I already had one, so I just logged in and all was good :)

I would just do a clean install. It cleans up old crap and bad registry entries. it is more work but i actually plan to do it and Ive been running windows 10 for months. Just waiting for a little after release to do it.(wait for fixes and finish some games so i don't have to move the saves)

I just noticed... I get far better network utilization when downloading... I am hitting my bandwidth's full potential in steam, in W7 I would not see much over 15mbps... on my 20mbps connection.

Also CPU usage is lower, ram usage is lower too... I have a CD playing, Onedrive downloading my music, and Windows doing updates.

Impressed so far..

And yeah my CPU is on a different bios profile as I feel I don't need to run it harder on it's usual 4.3ghz.

Looks like you can open Edge with Internet explorer.......why.

Edge looks damn good IMO!

Gonna try out CSGO on it, see how it performs, I am mostly looking for better CPU performance as heck my 7770 cannot be fully used in this game it is so CPU bound.

Well it's a shit load smoother than on Windows 7 without the FPS being capped by MSI AB, before I had to cap it to 130FPS just to stop the random FPS drops being noticeable in game, in 10 I have no such issue, though it varies from 130-300FPS.

Remember how in the very early builds of Windows 10, there was keylogging functionality that Microsoft would use to find bugs in the software?

Is this keylogging functionality still part of the most recent Windows 10 build? I would assume not, but I have not heard anything about it for awhile.

Could someone verify this?

Actually, I found the information. Keylogging looks to be gone in the RTM version of Win10.
