Thunderbolt Gigabyte Titan Ridge (Rev 1.0) with Lenovo Thinkstation P620 and Windows 11

Hey. Because the old thread at Thunderbolt 3 with Threadripper Pro on a Lenovo Thinkstation? (I am not able to insert a link) has been closed for a while and I got my hands on an P620 (Revision with AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5955WX), I tried to reuse my old Thunderbolt card.

With one of the latest BIOS versions Lenovo added the Thunderbolt feature offically. I am on Windows 11 Pro now and installed the card on Slot 4 with the latest (Windows 10) driver from Gigabyte. I lost my TB header cable, so I connected two pins on the card with a jumper.
Maybe I can connect PCIe card and mainboard with simple GPIO connector cables? Because I have two issues: first, a firmware update is not possible because the FW tool can’t find the device. And second, there is no hotplug. Maybe this could be solved with an update, but how?

Thank you!

Edit: I now used five GPIO cables to connect the card with the mainboard and hot plug seems to work now. But firmware upgrade does not :pensive: Maybe it’s the wrong pin order (soure - destination)?

I am pretty sure I actually have the exact add-in card you are referencing. When I get a moment I will double check. If so, I will send you some detailed photos of the included header cable so you can verify proper connections.
