Threadripper 7000 & Linux 6.8 Perf Uplift

Was having some weird perf issues when compared to previous 5975wx system, thought it could be due to memory channels (although DDR5 should have more throughput even with 4) or 512GB vs 386GB and linux buffer cache. Also saw weird GC thrashing issues in Intellij, even with a ridiculously high xmx.

Decided to try kernel 6.8 from 6.6 with 24.04 daily build looking stable. 24.04 would not install, crashes during partitioning. End up on Manjaro and ran some quick benchmarks that were interesting.

Saw an overall 5% uplift in single core and 8% in multi core. However, there was a 15% single core and 30% multi core uplift in file compression. HDR multicore saw an almost 50% uplift.

24.04 on live disk saw some uplift as well, but nothing as dramatic.
