Thrashology 201: Thrash/Death and You

This is a companion topic to Thrashology 101: The Joy of Thrash, continuing the exploration of the thrash metal sub-genre by focusing on bands that meld the traditional thrash metal sound with unique characteristics of the death metal sub-genre.

We'll start things off with the band Possessed, who many regard as the godfathers of death metal and some consider to be the first death metal band, citing their Death Metal demo released in 1984.
