Thoughts on Sceptre U435CV-UMC 4K monitor(tv)

I was looking at 4K monitor and came across this one, Sceptre U435CV-UMC. It's sub 300$. It has HDMI 2.0.

There are no reviews on this one anywhere. Does anyone has experience on Sceptre? or this monitor?

It's a TV...

Ya, it's a TV. At under 300 dollars at Walmart it's a ridiculous deal. Unfortunately finding out the chroma to any TV is difficult as most manufactures don't specify that spec. My guess is that its a none full array, 4:2:0, but does 4k 60 FPS with Hdmi 2.0. Though I here Hdmi 2.0 struggles at handling full 60 FPS. My current HDMI is labeled at HDMI 2.0 with 10.2 Gbps, I think I'm going to buy HDMI 2.0 that claims 18 Gbps, costs about 15 on amazon. I don't see why TV companies don't start using display port. I bought 2 of these, one for me and one as Christmas gift. I own a Sceptre Monitor and TV both are great. They're in CA and make great cheap TV's, but unfortunately stopped making monitors. Basically this Sceptre TV is the best/cheapest options available assuming all is well. I'm certain this TV launched thanksgiving and that no wal-mart has them on the shelves. Online only, somebody might have one in a day or two with first day air. If the quality of this TV isn't enough for you then go AMH a399u or 409 for 450-550. I've been really happy with Sceptre so I'm all in, but I'm not picky. It's a lesser panel, but even a lesser 4k panel will out shine any 1080p or 1440p monitor/TV, resolution is king. But most cheap 4k's are 30hz, this one offers 60. My biggest worry is the limitation of HDMI 2.0. I'll find out when I test it out.

Well I have one coming in today, so I will let you know how it performs.

nice, I got wait tell Monday.

So I have been using it, and it is actually really nice. 4k content looks great and there is no noticeable input lag when gaming. The only issue is unless you have a gpu that has hdmi 2.0, you will not get 60hz at 4k.

But club 3d is supposed to be releasing an adapter this month.

good to here. I'm all set. GTX 970 and HDMI 2.0 cable.

I finally got mine. It's sitting next to my Wasabi Mango 4k 42inch. It's not as good but that is expected for only 250$ compare to 600$ish. respond time is a tick longer than the Wasabi Mango. Refresh rate even if it is set to 60Hz , it kind of looks like 30Hz. (on the wasabi Mango, mouse move is very smooth at 60Hz, but not on this screen)

Playing video is great but maybe not for gamming

Chroma is 4:2:0, it looks very bad to my eyes, but that's just me.
but for the price it's definitely worth it.

shouldn't you be able to do 4:4:4? maybe your cable is not so good.

4:2:0 is what I would expect from an older HDMI cable.

no this screen only support 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 according to the manufacture

also i got the refresh rate fixed, set it to 59Hz instead of 60Hz

This panel was confirmed to be RGBW :-/
