Thorium browser

it’s pretty damn fast compared to other browsers, what do you guys think?
i am a bit disliking of the google part of it

I think I read somewhere that it is significantly late in patching security issues (i lost the source).

Its a no-go and that the current Chromium-based browser scene seems to favor Brave.

this is way faster than brave , you should try it to atleast know. there’s a firefox alternative called mercury which is also faster than other firefoxs

Fast is just another measure of fitness of purpose.

I prefer timely upgrade in cases of reported vulnerabilities in which Thorium is still at version 117 and Chromium is already at version 118 as of posting this.

Mercury is also behind, IIRC.

Both seem like bad ways to go browsing around the web, especially if you particularly like to visit gray and shady sites. Or even in non-shady sites if they happen to display malvertising.

Brave is my daily driver. Not the fastest, not the prettiest, but among the most secure, if not #1. Speed without personal data protection is no benefit.

Am happy to look at alternatives, but Brave is mature, still under active development, has granular controls for problematic web pages and has stopped a lot of crap from getting onto my various Windows / Linux systems.

That said, browser diversification is necessary (I keep my Google stuff in Chrome exclusively.) Most all else is in Brave.
