The quest for 8 threads continues

Praise be to @KemoKa73!

BTW, nice editing skills. That picture of the cooler looks awesome

Hahaha, thanks. 1st two are literally desaturate + zoom blur. 3rd one is bumped saturation + lens flare.

To my mild surprise GIMP does effects on 1 thread…

haha, that’s a bummer. All those threads, gone to waste.

Glad to see it working well! :smiley:

Yey! Mom, look, I finally won something!

#metoo Will do same small non-scientific benches I did on i5 to see get the feeling for it. Will post the results here.

So ehm… They’re seem like almost parity. I expected bit more from SMT I guess. And it seems in graphics it’s even bit worse. Need more games to test. (I don’t play a lot nowadays) It does feel more responsive (on Linux at least) when multitasking. (simulated rendering stuff in blender, watching anime and browsing interwebs)

TL:DR;

Well, I have another LGA 1155 MB that currently house an i3 with really shitty cooling solution (Tech Cringe worthy), so I guess I’ll put my i5 there, when I buy better cooler for that.

Also, just a funny observation.

> swap CPUs
> boot into Linux
> Linux just worked as usual, just showing me more threads
> reboot into Win7

> “I am not even surprised, lol”

It also wanted a reboot ofc.
