I don't really know what to think about this. Apple has been reinventing the wheel for some time now, and I don't understand how they are still being able to get away with it.
Locked down systems that defy the very concept of standardization don't have a place as professional tools either. Especially when it comes to third party upgrades and repairs.
The whole controversy with unethical behavior is nothing new for Apple. Just read the book Apple intern from Daniela Kickl. On its own it is a reason not to buy anything Apple.
